Mr Martin came to teach us all a samba rhythm using the ago-go bells and a whistle. We then played the rhythm with our own instruments. We had so much fun!

On Friday, Class Five (and Mr Cross came too!) went to visit the cenotaph. Throughout the last two weeks, all the children (Infants and Juniors!) have created 3D poppies as part of our fantastic festivals topic made out of wire and tissue paper. Then Miss Garnett arranged these poppies into a lovely wreath. We also saw other wreaths which had been laid from the Scouts, Cubs, the Fire Brigade and the people from Bolton-le-Sands.  Together we wrote a prayer, which Bella and Tilly read out carefully in our thoughful prayer time.

If you visit the Bolton-le-Sands twitter site, you will see a video of Class Five laying down our special Bolton-le-Sands wreath.

We will remember them.

He is very friendly and is kind to others on the playground. Jayden has a lovely personality and has very good manners. Keep it up! I loved your carnival mask and drum too- very creative!

Izzy has been chosen this week as she always works hard and has a smile on her face! Miss Latcham says Izzy always has a smile on her face and brightens up her day! Well done Izzy! I loved your musical instrument too!

Daisy has taken Lottie home for the weekend- well done Daisy. Miss Latcham thinks Daisy is always kind and helpful. She has good manners and is smiley and cheerful. Daisy is good at maths and worked hard when working out number patterns and sequences.  She is always very well behaved and sits smartly on the carpet. Daisy always makes other children laugh and smile and never lets people down. Hope you had a lovely weekend!

Making Instruments…It’s nearly carnival time!

We have been exploring, designing and making instruments in Design and Technology.

We really enjoyed designing our instruments! Some of us have made shakers, drums, guitars and much more! We have used masking tape and PVA glue to construct our instruments and then decorated them ready for the Brazilian carnival with bright colours, feathers and sequins! We are very excited!
